Jezza & Droid's Cane Toad Extravaganza

Stumbling upon the Collideascope Roadkill page has filled us with a sense of mindless wonderment. What an incredibly senseless but vividly beautiful piece of tasteful information. In full colour we might add! It has captured our thoughts to such an ext ent that we can only feel that it is right that Roadkill should go global. Cane toads aside I'm sure that sick individs would like to witness dead & mangled 6 foot big red Kangaroos, not to mention fluffy koalas, Emus & giant monitor lizards (Iguanas on steroids) et cetera. The level of enthusiasm that has hit has inspired us to arm country folk with Polaroid cameras and issue directives to mail in EVERY week in order for us to vett the best of prior to digital dissemination. We can make Raccoons look si mply boring. Next Africa!

THE CANE TOAD COLLECTION (bufo marinus) These giant amphibians are registered under the Noxious Pest Control Act in Australia after being introduced from Brazil in 1939 in order to attempt to control the cane beetle in Far Northern Queensland cane fiel ds. (Very similar geographically to say, Cuba. Sugar everywhere, except a lot more christians & rednecks). Unfortunately Cane Toads not only decided to predate on beetles but every other form of existence. Hence there level of pestilence. Not only this, t hey harness extraordinary poison glands that kill anything (except cars) that try to eat them. Certain people dry them out & smoke the poison which is basically bufotene, a strong hallucinogenic. During the wet season they quite often reach plaque proport ions and the indigenous folk take to them as a sport, golf driving practice immediately comes to mind. Also - fantastic driving sport a redneck version of doom. Simply go for the highest body count. The carnage demonstrated is merely a small introduction into their abundance on the shoulder. They also have a tendency to rise up on their hindquarters, (real proud like) and if you are lucky enough to hit football size ones front on, there is a distinct audible pop, not like a champagne cork but exploding a big brown paper bag.
Enjoy! Plenty more where they came from.
